Branch meetings

Our next meeting will be at .

The Parkinson's UK Oxford and District Branch meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the W I Hall, North Hinksey Lane, Botley, Oxford OX2 0LT. Meetings begin at 7pm and end around 9pm.

Our monthly meetings usually have a speaker. Recent meetings have informed us about research activities at the University, other Parkinson's-related concerns, and topics of general interest. Some meetings are devoted to group discussion and feedback. At the end there is time for tea and coffee when members can chat together.

The View from the Top
Mark Goodridge, Chair of Trustees of Parkinson's UK, shares his perspective on the UK's largest Parkinson's charity. In his wide ranging career influencing organisational change at board level in industrial and commercial companies in South America, as Human Resources Director at Associated British Foods and as a partner at Ernst & Young, he brings a wealth of experience and understanding of how to make organisations effective and efficient in times of rapid change.

1st November at 7pm

Quiz Evening
This will be an opportunity for members to engage their minds and show off their knowledge while multi-tasking in group strategies with other team-members. It will not be necessary to know "Who scored twice for Villa in their 50s Cup Final win over Manchester United?" There will be time to get to know other members a little more than usual and there will only be a very few questions on the science associated with Parkinson's.

6th December at 7pm

Branch Christmas party
Always a meeting to look forward to. There will be food (if you can bring some) and drinks will be provided. It offers all our members, and particularly those newly diagnosed or who have been hesitant to come to meetings, a warm welcome and a chance to get to know people a little more. Our only concern is that our usual meeting place in Botley WI Hall may not be big enough to accommodate everyone in comfort, so please can you let us know at the November meeting if you are going to come and watch this space to get any update about numbers or the venue!
