This time next week (midday Sunday 10th) I should be on a train, first to London and then to Carlisle via Newcastle. Too late to back out now!<\/p>\n
The weather forecast doesn’t look too bad. One little hazard that I only just learnt about: the path between Bowness on Solway and Carlisle can flood at exceptionally high tides. I’ll be there just at the high tide time, but fortunately it’s not a spring tide so I should escape dry-shod.
